upgrade or too far from stock?
A removable panel to clean and gain access to prime and paint inside the cowl.

It serves a purpose and it's hidden so who cares if it is not stock. Looks like a good idea to me. Not sure it would get put to good use though if you have to pull the fender to get to it.

That's a good idea. I've been thinkin about how I'm gonna tackle that same issue and I think I'm going to steal your idea. I'll be sealing the panel up with a good sealant though so the overlaps don't catch crap washing down either the inside or outside and start another rust problem.

Wish I could make it to the meet. It would be cool to do a demo on say a cab corner or a fuel filler patch. Maybe I can plan on it next year.

Wish you were going then i could bring the 67 so you would have something to demo on........lol,yeah it is a 8 hour trip for me but it would be worth it to have you show me and work on my truck.

A screw driver and gardenhose works for me. :p
Turn hose on, shoot water inside cowl, stick screwdriver in drain hole, fish out all the crap. |

Dang Earl how ya been,all this racing I been doing has kept me away from the board and my trucks. Well I sold my racing operation fri. to a guy in Charlotte so I can get back to my friends and trucks,so how's the family doing,bet that girl is grown!

i just went through that the other day mine was filled with leaves that would have been nice. i just took the vent out inside and stuck a shop vac hose up there got them all out. i did drill small hole under each one for water drainage on mine. overall i think thats a good idea but like everyone said prob only get used once or twice when painting. i put one on the inner bottom fender of one of my vettes to be able to change out blower motor easier.

Great option to have it there, even if used only the one time it gets new primer/paint in an unexcessable spot.
I used the big old flat blade screw driver trick just opened up the seam on the outside edge of the panel a bit to allow for drainage. |

thanks again for all the feedback. Donnie, good to hear your back to work on the trucks. Yes my daughter is groing fast. I'm enjoying being her daddy, she's an awsome kid.
