Whats the value of a ls6 454?

I have a 1970 chevelle ls6 454 it is still standard bore with the stock crank turned to 10-10. This engine was rebuilt in 1983 as the car was being tested it lost control at about 90 mph and spun into a used car lot . It totaled 9 cars including itself. I bought the engine from a guy who was going to put it in a model t f**d but gave up on it. Motor was a basket case in a basement and was told $500. for it. 1 hour later i was broke but i have a great motor in my 65 biscayne 2dr 4 spd bench bb clone. Would like to know what the motor would be worth in that cond. Thank you Erick

I think you done good ! A few yrs back, Im guessin about 15yrs....I went freakin roundy pounders with the wifey over an Ls6 crate! The tough part is that I could have had d@mn near had 2 Ls6 crates for what that BB Olds cost! they were about $2650 per at the time. when you build er up, you might think about dropping the comp ratio into pump gas levels, if you plan street use.....on the strip, go for it! that was a 450-460 hp mill! best of luck, crazyL

ls6

I have it is the biscayne and left the pop ups in it . It gets about 12 miles to the gallon anyway so why complain. It sits more than it drives. Only put 500 miles on it in the last year. But i have been offered $3500. for the motor. There are not many 65 biscaynes left.
