Differance in LWB and SWB overload springs? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Is there? I just bought a set of overload springs off of ebay (btw the guy had an awesome 68 swb truck - i'm trying to get him to join our board) and they came off of his SWB 68 c10 and i want them for my LONG WB 68 C10.

What are the measurements for the overload springs if there is a differance.

Even if they don't fit I'll have to brag on this purchase. they were $9.00 for the brackets and springs. No strickers though but the overload springs alone in LMC are 150.00 each - nuff said.

Please help me out!!

I don't think there is a difference...does LMC list a seperate part number for short/long?

nope no diff P/N. I got to looking at LWB ans SWJ and the differance in length of the frame or bed dosen't lie in the wheel back, it lies in the wheel forward. In other words, if you measure from rear bumper to the back of the wheel well - it's the same distance no matter if it's LWB or SWB. the differance i've noticed is the fact that if you mearure from the front of the bed back to the front of the wheel well.

that's where the differance is.
and if that's the case then there is no differance in the length of the overload aux. springs.

All the ones I have seen look to be the same length regardless if they came from a SWB or LWB truck. The only ones I have are from LWB trucks. I have a set of a 71 C-10 (single leaf) and a 65 C-10 (three leaf). I will try to measure them tonight for you.

I measured the leaf and got approx. 29-1/4".
