Door Panel Swap questions

I was in my friendly slavage yard, and saw a nice k30 crew cab, and was wondering if the door panels would fit in my 77. It looks like it, and it is a lot flatter too, without the woodgrain and stuff, just has brushed aluminum. i wanted to get a pair to recover to match the new interior of my '77. I think it would look a lot smoother, and better tha nthe old crumbling, sun faded stock stuff. i'll just clean them up, and drop them off at the upholsterers. that is, if they fit. i don't see why not, but just wanna check.

Had a big score yesterday. About 15 years ago my sister used the truck, had a flat, used the jack, and lost it. Stumbled on a beautiful '78, with an UNUSED jack and crank still under the hood. good times. Thought I'd lay that out too. only cost me $6.

all the front doors are the same hence the door panels will fit also. the only thing you have to watch out for is if it had power windows it will havea LARGE hole for the 4-gang switch. If it is manual then nothing to worry about. DAVE

like I tell people all the time , trucks have been my money depleteing hobby for over 20 years. I'm too broke to buy $3 a piece beers in a bar that are so rank you have to squeeze a lime in them too get them to taste right ;-).

The doors are NOT all the same. door breaks are 73-77 in 78 they changed. What is different is how the door pannel mounts. A 73-77 will not fit a 78 up door. BUT you can make the newer pannel fit the older door but you will have to do a little work and figure out where the holes belong. You might need to hammer the raised area that was at the bottom of the 77 doors down a little so the new pannle doesn't buldge out. Then ytou will need to figure out if the armrrest brackets need to be changed any.

76 was the last year for the short panels and i knew that he hada 77 when he replied so any 77 or newer panel will fit right on. no problems or changes.
the 76 panels were much shorter and also did have a shorter arm rest bracket. DAVE
