2 bbl Rochester carburetor

I have a 68 C-10 w/ a 307. It has the factory 2 bbl rochester, (manual choke, no governor) and although I have rebuilt it once already it still leaks gas from a few places. I heard that rochester carbs are not very good, but I don't know of a suitable replacement. I don't have lots of money so I guess I'll have to get something that's reman. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

i had a single barrel on my I6 that blew out. I went to schucks (checker, Kragen) and got a reman with a 2 year warranty. once it started leaking again i took it back. i went through 4 carbs in 2 years, but it only cost me 110 bucks and time. the last carb i replaced i did it on the side of the road in 15 minutes. i got goood

dave try a remanufactured 2bbl rochester from jc whitney. i have had outstanding results with several of their carbs. i have used 2 1bbls and 1 2bbl. the most recent was a replacement for my 67 w283. the carb looked brand new and it started right up out of the box with zero adjustment. the thing i like about these carbs is that they come with a warranty, they come with a trouble shooting sheet, they also are all rebuilt by the same company which provides you with a phone# if you require technical assistance. i have posted here multiple times about these carbs i get from jc whitney because i have had very good results. i will not rebuild one of these carbs again because i can get a remanufactured one at very little cost and my time is far more important. i highly reccommend the jc whitney provided carbs. hope this helps.
