2bbl carb 307. with a load on that could be a real dog. I agree on the smog pump brackets. It shouldn't be there in 1970, probably not even California trucks. The 3/4 ton and bigger trucks went by diferent emissions rules than passenger cars and light duty trucks.

The bracket on the engine could be for a plow pump. It sure looks like the bracket that supports my pump, anyway.
Being from Illinois it would not be a surprise, if it were equipped with a plow some time ago. Jim |
