I just got home....it's about 1:30 in the morning....had a great time. Attendance was down, and a few of us had to drive non-cool trucks, but the trucks that showed up were VERY nice.
Last year, there were a bunck of Longhorns, and short wheelbase trucks...this year, they were all LWB, with one SWB and 2 blaxzers thrown in...plus one burb for good measure. Like always, I don't remember most of the names....heck, after falling asleep in my car with a can of POR15 that got poured into the trunk (I shouldn't launch the thing so hard ) I hardly remember MY name. POR is some nasty stuff...I woke up feelin drunk and falling all over my junk. yup...good times. Lets see....2 trips to the hardware store...80 miles, one way from here to there, 45 miles...never pulled over by the man...12 cans of dew...one bottle too, 2 scared passengers in the stinkin lincoln...(they said 85 is too fast on the 2 lane black top...with hills and turns ) One almost had the p!ss scared out of him...I won't say your name....but we all know who you are. I'm thinking about 17 ppl (including spouces) or so showed up. I have about 50 pics or so i need to D/L into another computer...so y'all will have to wait untill I roll my dead @ss out of bed. Mike and Rhonda... Mucho Grassy-ass (inside joke...you had to be there)...had a great time, looking forward to it next year. |

Hey Mike thanks for having the meet at your place again this year. Rhonda it was fun going shopping with you for the hobo ingredents. Andy your right about attendece being down from last year. But I think everyone had a good time. And Mike got his shop wired, and stuff moved over to it. Jeff what can I say but "Great wings man". To everyone that was there thanks for coming it was great to see old faces and new ones. Latter, the Wagon Master.

Hey everyone. As always i had a great time with my buddies. Nothing like hanging out shootin' the bull. Thanks so much to all who helped me move heavy stuff from the old shop to the new one. I realize you didnt come here to work, but its so much easier moving that stuff with more people.
I have yet to have a bad meeting with members. Dont think i ever will. In a world so filled with turmoil it is nice to know we can get together and enjoy doing mostly nothing. Just swappin' stories, parts, and hangin' out. Thanks so much, Mike

I will be there next year come hell or high water. As soon as a date is decided upon, let me know, and I'll take it off. On a good note, my bosses wife had a little girl Friday, and as far as I know, everything is fine with her. Maybe next year I'll actually be able to drive my 68 down there too
Also, I'm with Andy on the looks of Deans truck. I absolutely love that color combo!

I know it is a phrase often used around here, but the people I met on Saturday are some of the finest people I have ever hung out with. There was constant laughter, poking fun, and story swapping. I will do everything possible to make it to every get-together from here on. I honestly did not know what I was missing out on!
Thanks for the kind words guys, I really appreciate it. Again, I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to be associated with. Thanks Mike for hosting this shin-dig, you have the perfect place for it. Awesome garages, and a beautiful setting. Here's a couple pics I've got, BigBlue's GMC, and a shot of the caravan heading North out of Cincy. |

It is a 67 XR7, 289, 3 speed manual, practicly no rust, parked in 76 I think, less than 100K, Starts and runs, black leather int...not pleather or vinal...real friggen leather.
I have offered Mike my GMC, Longhorn, Town Car, AND Contour...but he won't trade. I have been drooling over that sucker for 6 months now, ever since he draged it home. I WILL re-live my teen years one day and get me a 67 or 68 Cougar. |

Holy crap, sounds like my dad's. He had a 67 XR7, red with a black vinyl top and black leather, hipo 289/auto. Had the mahogany dash with "toggle switches" in the middle. I'd like to buy Dad another one....but they aren't exactly a cheap car to buy..... Although, I'd trade Mike my 68 for it......

get in line buddy.
If I had the means, it would be sitting among all my other junk. Mine was a 68, 302, 4V heads, (one year head design) power brakes, power steering, automatic, shoulder belts, A/C, cloth seat inserts, dual exhaust, blue on blue with a perfect int and full bondo quarter panels. Original hub caps made it look stocker than stock. |

I think I should be first in line Andy... I've offered to get rid of my 68...my last remaining GM product Actually, I'd trade the 68 F100 swb for it, but I don't think I could part with my C10....
