4wd to 2wd
hey guys. help me! I have found a good deal on a '77 4x4 stepside. It has a 427 turbo jet and the interior/exterior are in good shape. The only drawback is I am looking for a 2wd cruiser for daily driving. I was curious as to whether I could convert this truck to 2wd. I have a donor truck with front suspension and steering, as well as nearly all other needed parts laying around but I am not sure if a 2wd front suspension can be bolted on. Does anyone know? This is a nice truck but I don't need a 4x4.
Thanks for the insight, Zach P.S. I need a new truck fairly soon, my burb is going to blow soon!!!! |

Yep, you can convert the frame over While it is easiest to just find a swb frame, you can bolt the 2wd crossmember up...

Thanks for the link! I searched on yahoo and google for info but didn't find anything, I post here and get info in a matter of hours! Thanks a lot! Looks like it will be pretty straightforward since I have a '78 3/4 2wd ton rolling frame sitting out back with a new front suspension and brakes.
thanks again, Zach |
