Stupid Questions
I have a few newbie questions. First, what is a voltage regulator for and do I need it if I upgrade my alternator. Second, is HEI hard to install for a points type setup and do I need to do any fancy wiring. Three, the vent window frames on my truck are shot. The doors are really not that great either, needs new lower skins. Can I just buy new frames around the glass or do I need a whole new window. That is all.

You don't need an external voltage regulator if you upgrade to an internally regulated alternator. Check here for more info.http://207.44.196.117/vboard/showthread.php3?t=119379

check with GMC Paul on the window frames. I believe they are available seperately but installing the glass is difficult. I suggest getting complete assy.
we try to support the board vendors as they support us. Todd

I agree with the vent windows. I was a 4 hand job. Wait, that didn't sound good. It was a 2 person job.
