Broke spark plug
I'm really pissed off tonight. I was changing spark plugs in my 87 and broke off #8. Must have been cross threaded from the guy before me. So I will get up way before school tomorrow and tear it apart and take in the head before I go to class. Why can't things go easy?

What do you mean you broke off #8? Did you just break the porcelain? Lumpy

I hope you mean that the porcelin broke off, I've never seen the threads break off of the plug. I've had the plug break but nut unit and threads stayed together, as you mentioned it was cross threaded, by my own flesh and blood! I was able to remove it then clean the threads up with a thread chaser made just for this occasion.
Good luck, Ken. ------------------ Ken Floyd 72 C20 350HO 82 Honda Silverwing 2001 Silverado

no, the plug broke off right after the hex head. All thats left in the head is the threads. I'm ripping it apart in the morning, so I should have it running tomorrow night I hope.

I had the same thing happen a month ago. The porcelain came all the way out and all that was left was the threads and electrode.
I took an easy out and cut it in half so i could hammer it in without touching the electrode. A little wd40 and it came out, THANKGOD. ------------------ 1969 swb 4x4 gmc bb/4spd 1972 k30 longhorn bb/ac 1992 k3500 xt/cab 454 Alborn Minn Can help with freight to Kansas from time to time
