Usually I don't comment on how people do their trucks because everyone has their own taste and that's ok. But why in the hell would you make a a 72 C10 a front wheel drive!!?! gah

Dare to be different....I actually almost kinda like it. The FWD part is a bit odd, and it bet it's a dog with 2.50 gears, but with the torque of the olds 455, you probably don't even notice it. You could run that thing 100 mph all day long on the expressway and not worry.....

I have noticed that swap in a few of the C30 ramp bed car haulers before. I bet it isn't that bad of a performer. Torque is king and the 455 has plenty. The Caddy 500's are the same way. Think of the GMC motorhomes that run the same set up and they are 26' long and weigh several tons more than a truck.

I haven't worked on a lot of FWD cars, but I didn't realize there were any out there that didn't mount the motor sideways.

I saw a front wheel drive International 1 ton truck before, that had a special flatbed wrecker body that would lower straight down so the car could be winched on. I guess the company that made them would buy factory 4x4s, hack the frame off behind the cab, add on their own rear frame/body, and take off the rear driveshaft. It was done so the body could be lowered all the way to the ground and still have a flat surface.

Saw a 73 up truck with that set-up under the front. The back half of the truck was a double axle lowboy triler with dovetail.Looked like a good Idea for a hauler.

Im not quite the purist, but basically I like em High Optioned Clean and Stock with a little flavoring to make it your own.But that thing is a freak, may be a nice ride with plenty of torque, but why would you go thru that much trouble and expense, for something for the most part the original builder unless he did all the work himself would never recoup the labor charges on.Heck I didnt like the Toronado car, I definitely dont like the Toronado Truck.just my .02 cents. :p
