Postal Service, UPS, or Fedex either one. Choose your favorite poison.

UPS is usually the cheapest, but you'd better make the box bomb proof. I think they use some of the packages as wheel chocks for their transports.

I'd think Fed Ex would be cheapest of the three, USPS is cheapest on small stuff. UPS is higher than Fed Ex.

Fedex sucks big time...I bought a centersection from Chris H in Minnesota, he shipped Fedex...the package was tracked to Wisconsin after 1 day, then to FT WORTH TEXAS...wtf? It stayed there for over a week, then finally showed up today in Ohio. Idiots Good thing the crate was bombproof.
EDIT: forgot to add that Fedex is rude over the phone and they dont return your calls if you leave messages.

I've had a couple problems with Fed Ex too but all in all they have been good. When I compare shipping between UPS and Fed Ex, Fed Ex is cheaper. I seen that thread about your rearend Chris made a heck of a box!!

Always used FedEx here...that are cheaper than USPS and UPS. Never had anything damaged or lost either.

I always get stuff shipped to me via USPS, and always ship stuff via CPS (Canadian Postal Service, gov't run)
They don't have any brokerage fees (aka, border tariffs, so much for free trade...) and take good care of the stuff they ship. Just don't get stuff shipped priority, they always seem to have the most issues with getting priority stuff to wherever it is going on time, while their regular mail generally gets there within a week to three weeks tops. Just an example of how careful the gov't run postal services are -- they guy who shipped me my tach dash didn't pad it what so ever, just built a box, put it in, and shipped it, the thing was just loose in there, I got it here with no damage to the dash in any way shape or form UPS on the other hand somehow managed to damage a box of gaskets... I swear, they dropped that box off the truck a couple times, and ran it over just for good measure :P CPS will take pretty much anything, I was surprised to tell the truth, shipped a 90 lb object for me once, and it was still only like 25 dollars...

I usually ship via USPS; either shipping by Priority Mail or Express Mail. As for packing, a little trick I use is to fill all of the dead space around the item to be shipped with air popped popcorn, or if it is a small item, unshelled sunflower seeds work great.
