Easiest way to remove body lift?

Any ideas? I have 3" body lift on my '73 that needs to go, any special order to go about removing it? Tips? Thanks

Adam

Your steering shaft and shift linkage (auto tranny) may need shortened; unhook them before you begin. Also watch the gas filler neck hose when doing the bed, it may need shortened as well. On one side of the truck (left or right) just loosen the bolts. Make them fairly loose but don't remove them. Go to the other side and remove the bolts. Lift the body a bit and remove the blocks and then lower the body. Put bolts 3" shorter back in but don't tighten them yet. Remove the loosened bolts from the other side, lift the body, remove the blocks, lower body and install shorter bolts. It is important to leave one side of bolts in to keep the body located on the frame, but loose so the body can tilt. Repeat for the bed. You may have to remove all of the bolts from the bed before installing the shorter ones. Tighten the bolts if the bed and body are aligned. You can try to hook up the steering and shift linkage. If they are too long they will need shortened. The bumper may need to be lowered also if they were raised when the body lift was installed, but most likely not as raising the bumpers is not common.
