Center bearing mounting
Hi,
In my haste to get my new project together I purchased a used tranny and driveline. Now that I have installed it in my 69 longbed, I have found that the tranny is the longer tailshaft version and my original driveline is now too long. I do have a driveline from a later truck and it does seem to be the right length however my center bearing mount is the early in-line type and the later one has the more traditional straddle type mount. So, my question is....is there an easy way to adapt, weld, fabricate a mount for the later center bearing/driveline without changing out the crossmember? Or am I going to have to shorten the existing driveline? Thanks Rick

I would just shorten the driveshaft and call the problem solved..
