Quick HEI swap question

I just want to make sure i am correct on this, to add HEI to a truck that has always had points, i do not have to do anything with the oil pump intermediate shaft?

And all i have to do is add a wire to the unfused port, and clip the yellow wire off the starter/old dist?

thanks
David

That's all! Or, if you really wanted to be slick, you could remove the resistor wire from the plug at the firewall and replace it with a 12g wire. I just did this on my 70 4x4. Grab the terminal with a pair of needle nose pliers so the terminal gets pinched together, as to close the gap. Then push it out. It is even better if you have an old harness that could donate another wire and ternimal from.
