67-72 Crew Cab
I was trying to find a pic of a brown 67-72 crew cab (dont remember what year it was) 4x4. I believe it was a suburban chopped off at the rear and a truck cab back window section was grafted in. Also the truck had a newer dash from like a late 90's truck. Ring a bell with anybody?

That was a truck that Ricks Pickup Parts in Mesa, AZ was working on for a customer.
If my memory serves me correctly, the truck started as a 96-98 K2500 extended cab, and a modified suburban/cab and shortbed was added. It was a sweet truck! |

Sweet! right click save. I really like the suicide rear door. Did they add a rear door on the drivers side. A drivers side suicide door would be perfect for me easy to get my wheelchair in like my S-10 Xtreme w/3rd door. I like the top of the rear door rounded like the gold and white 67-68 that was in classic trucks. But I will admit that this looks alot better than the ones that use pickup front doors (rounded on top). Thats like on most extended cabs they use the pickup doorsand then put a rectangular extended cab window w/rounded corners in and with the drip rail at the door like stock. To me it don't match the extended cab window look like it belongs on a 53-56 ford f100. The extended cab window needs to be as tall as the door window. Rounded at the top back to match the cab and square on the other 3 corners to match the body lines and the squared door from a suburban, and run the drip rail from above the door above the excab window then down behind it.

WOW.. All this talk about extended cabs and crew cabs.. I had to dig out a picture of my first attempt at doing one about 10 years ago... I used a 133 inch wheel base Long Horn frame.. with a short bed... cut off the cab directly behind the door and moved it and the rear mounts back.. then welded in a Suburban floor and also used the Suburban roof which is taller than the trucks.. then used a window out of a late 80's Ranger.. I was okay with the stretch part.. But the window treatment still did not look right to me.. Oh well.. A buddy of mine loved it and ended up with it... Drove it for a few years.. then sold it.. It was last seen in Puyuallup WA a couple years ago.. Has any one seen it lately??... Would be cool to have it back.. Try a different window and turn it into a 4X4 Dually..

Wow.. I really like your brothers windows the best .. it matches the rest awesome.. Last edited by Livrat; 12-06-2004 at 01:03 AM. |

There is a crew for sale in Oregon right now that looks decent. Not as nice as either of the two above, but someone put some work into it.

truck in truck trader
I think the one bouncytruck posted link to is a truck BAD4X4 from this board build several years ago. If so it was nice in every way picture does not do it justice. If I remember they had over $50K into it.

Bob, wasn't BAD4X4 the owner of the Blazer I bought from you before you bought it? That truck looks nice in the photo, but the description makes it sound better than the photo.

I did build the one Bob is talking about. The truck has a powder coated frame and axles. a big block, turbo 400-205, tilt, air, tach, 97 tahoe buckets and console is what we put in it, but does not have them anymore. I talked to the owner, he is the same guy that bought it from me. The truck from the pics I got from him is run down. Thought about buying it back and lifting it and putting a 502 in it, but after seeing it, I can't aford to repaint it and do everything else. Thanx Bob
