How much drop with just airbags?
I have a 72 GMC 1500 with rear leaf springs. How much drop can I get with just installing air bags? How much drop will I get from stock ride height? Currently, I have 1 coil removed from the front springs. And 2" drop shackles in the rear. I have 2 1/2" drop spindles sitting in my shed right now that I plan on installing this summer. I am also considering purchasing 3" drop leafs for the rear. I have other projects too (66 Chevelle) so I don't really want to spend $1500+ for a drop. Although, I want to be able to tow my 66 Chevelle to the track and car shows (Woodward) and (Chevellabration). Pics of both vehicles are on my signature. Thanks for the help!!

Has anybody bagged their rear leaf spring truck? How much drop will I get from stock ride height?

I would think since you're only adding the bags and not "removing" anything then the height wouldn't lower at all unless you also removed something at the same time?
I put 4" drop leafs on my truck and 2" drop spring up front, now the front sits just a HAIR and I mean a HAIR higher than the rear, just enough so I can tell it and it bugs the everloving crap outta me. Now I'm pretty sure my rear shocks could use replacing so I'm hoping when I do that it'll pull the rear up that miniscule amount it needs to sit it back level. I also have new tires and wheels yet to go on and the rear I plan to put some nice thick 15x10's on with lotsa rubber and I might go with a slightly shorter front tire that would also achieve the ever so small difference I need to get the level look I was after. So so close but that little niggling really bugs me. I'm also considering converting to bags all the way around mainly for ride quality but that's something for later I can live with it as is for now Last edited by Gary; 12-10-2004 at 02:08 PM.
