Clarke Welders
Anybody know anything about these welders. Eastwood has a 130 Mig in theiir catalog for 449.99 with cart. I was looking at the Lincoln Pro-Mig 135 at Lowes for 457.00 without cart. Another 80.00 for a cart. Even with shipping (about 20.00) from Eastwood It is almost 120.00 more from Lowes by the time I pay tax and that would pay for a gas bottle. Any help would be appreciated.

I have one
I have never owned or used a nice expensive one, but I have a Clarke model 130 (i think). Had it for about 3 years now and it has been dependable. I do go thru a lot of grinders though :-)

Walk in to whatever hardware store you normaly use, and try to find tips, wire and such for whichever one you are looking at. I have an old style clarke(smaller tips), and I have fit's of rage anytime I need replacement what-evers.Buy local or at least buy a VERY well known brand.

I got mine at http://www.southerntoolsupply.com in Louisville, KY. I think they only sell wholesale online, but I go to their store. I get all the parts/wire from them. I have not tried to find stuff elsewhere.

I bought a Clarke 130EN as a package from ORSCHELIN farm store. It had the welder, cart helmet wire regulator setup and all for $299.00. It was usually 399.00 but every year they mark them down in a sale. Shop around and you'll find a better deal on one, I looked for about 6 months. It's been fine for me.

I have the 150EN and I really like it. Not the most adjustable thing in the world, but works good.

I got a Lincoln 135 at Home Depot. I haven't had any problems. Got the gas at the local welding supplier. Good guys there at the welding supply.

I know harbor freight sells import stuff, but you can't beat their price on Mig's. $150-175 with gas capability. That's cheap. You got to catch the sale to get that price. They're running one right now actually..
