tank selector switch
I found what i think is a tank selector switch in the wrecking yard it was on the left side of the dash and it has three settings left, right and center. What are these worth??

If I'm not mistaken that is the switch which selects which tank sender is feed to the fuel gage. My C-20 has three tanks but no selector switch for the fuel gage. You just run on one of the Aux tank until the truck starts to die then reach down to the tank selector valve on the floor and select a different tank. This can be pretty exciting on the Washington DC beltway with a tractor trailer on your a@@. The gas gauge only registers the level in the behind seat gas tank. I know this truck is factory equipped with the three tank configuration. Maybe newer trucks or dealer installed option trucks had the gas gauge selector switch. I'm not sure about price but I'm sure one of the experts will be along to help.

My Blazer has the dealer installed Hickey tanks. The selector is on the floor in front of the driver's seat. There is only two positions, one for the main tank and one for the two aux tanks. The gage doesn't work with the aux tanks. I can see the tops of the tanks and there isn't even any indication that there is a float or any electronics to measure the level. Ya just do what ddsmith does, run until the truck starts to sputter and then switch. Because of that, I don't really use them, just enought to keep the gas from going bad.

I don't think they would be worth that much inless somebody is doing a restoration.

I have seen the switch he is talking about.... it goes where the A/C vent is located on the left side of the dash tween the door jam and ammeter... I always thought it would be cool to do a three tack set up pirating a set up from a dual tank 73-79 and using that switch in a 67-68 dash set up so you could have the extra spot on the bezel for it...would be some work, btu could be done... but anyway the switch has the same knob as the headlights, WS wipers, choke etc... couldnt tell you if is reads fuel level in the saddle taks though.... hope that helps..

My 72 3/4 has aux tank and does have a nob to the left of the guages (right above the a/c vent). It switches the power for reading the level in both tanks. Mine must have a sending unit in it.heres pic of knob location
