I like it! ('course I'm partial to blue) What color will you paint the top? ...and do you plan on keeping the stock trim?

thanks

I think I like it too. It looks a little 'purple' though when the sun changes.

I'm keeping the top white for now.

As far as trim goes, I don't know if Tim will let me keep it. In fact, he's already welded up some of the holes. He hates trim, expecially wood grain. He says the only purpose it serves is to trap dirt and water (dirt + water = rust).

I kind of like the looks of it but have to agree about the rust. One fender was so bad, we almost threw it away. However it was either fix it or buy some aftermarket junk so Tim cussed his way though fixing it. It no longer has trim holes. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

color code

It's not stock Chevy. It's MTK197520***A. It's called 'Reef Blue'. I had it mixed at the local paint shop. It kind of looks like the new 'Freightliner' blue.

It looks like the stock "dark blue" color. Paint code 523, I think. I like it. That's the color my Blazer was and that's the color I'm painting it again.

Is that you or Tim spraying? I don't like to nag but even outside you should have some breathing protection. The color looks great, though.

Thanks low burb. It's me and I am wearing a mask but not a resperator. You just can't see it in the picture. Your never nagging when you mean well. Those of you who are thinking of painting your own truck should always wear the proper safety equiptment!

Thanks for the reply

TeamHarvey, May paint the top a differant color later but for now, I think we'll keep it white. I kind of like the contrast.

Gee Mee, That yellow was pretty popular, just not with me. I don't even like 'butterscotch' candy. I guess it's all a matter of opinion.

Blue beard, This is my first paint job and I'm kind of going on what the guys at the paint shop tell me. We've talked about clear coating and I probably will. I know it gets at least 5 coats of blue first

Your painting already, do you want to come and do mine?
Hows the painting going anyways, you did the best thing and asked the supplier for the info. Nice color, by the way.

Not really painting, just playing around. Safelite is coming to put the new windshield in and I wanted to the windshield bow ready for him to scratch up. I'm going to try to paint it soon though. We are moving real soon so I want to get something on it just to keep the surface rust down. If it should happen to come out looking nice, that would be a big plus.

I like it.

Tops are pretty hard to paint matching color. Lots of sanding! LOL Luckily mine was done when I bought it. But I plan on doing the inside of the top though.

color

I'think I like it too. It changes colors with the sun. In full sun, it looks just like the picture but in lower light, it has a hit of purple. I'm going to try to have color on the whole truck this weekend. We'll see how it turns out.

Thanks to all that replyed

Cethern I got your check and will be bringing the tank.

If you are going to drive your blazer as a daily driver and not keep it parked away from all other cars. The main function that my wood grain trim on my blazer has served for the 25yrs that I have owned it is catching other cars door dings and saving my paint. My trim that now needs to be replaced has hundreds of marks where people have thrown their doors into my blazer just a thought.

I have to admit that "most" of the time I'm not a big fan of blue. That is unless I see one that really gets my attention. If that blue is as vibrant as it looks on my computer it will make your Blazer scream.

Here's one with a similiar color combo....

You are not kidding that color is alive. It looks great. Keep it. The white top will look good with it too. Bottom line, you are going to be driving it, not anyone else but thanks for letting us give you our opinion.
