85 Project....

First Post... be gentle, just began a winter project, have an 85 1500 in a greeenhouse (dry and warm) to change engines, do body work, detail inside, replace headliner and various other things that I find as work progresses. I want to lift it 2" running 32's. does any body have any thoughts about the need for blocks (2") in the back if helper springs are already there (6 leafs)? Plan to use a Tuff Country Lift Kit that replaces front leaf springs and comes with 2" blocks for rear.

first off welcome. 2" lift would be plenty to fit 32's actually they'll fit on there now. I highly recommend Tuff Country that's what I have on my suburban. go with the ez rides and you'll be fine with the 2" blocksin the rear. you'll probably need new shocks. your brake line should be fine and you won't have to extend the drive lines. that's the beauty with going with an low lift espically 2" lift but if your going to be doing an offroading you'll want to get some longer brake lines. I would suggest getting new front shackles for the front and new bushings for the rear. check out offroaddesign.com they have some sales right now and I think they have the TC springs on sale too. I bought everything from them when I did my lift on my sub. I highly recommend them.

good luck.
