apparently my C10 is a firetruck

my daughters informed me today that my truck was a firetruck, as they stood on the stepside steps. Of course they're 3 & 5. They must have played firefighter for a half hour pretending to ride on the steps and then get off and go put out the fires. My truck might be the ugliest thing on the road, but my girls love to ride in daddy's truck!

Mine was a fire truck for the City of Oceanside, Ca. It came with 2 speed Hydro-matic and 3.83 rear end. It's still red, although it's a peeling "Maico" paint job. It was ordered with all red interior, but the PO changed the dash pad and all he could find at the time was black, but it still has the red visors in it. I think I'm going to go ahead and do some more black on the inside to offset the red (too much red!). When I got it it still had the antenna sticking through the top of the roof and another antenna hole in the rear of the cab/passenger side that has a big rubber plug in it.

My kids are a little old to be playing "fire man" but they still dig riding around in it, even if it is pretty ugly
