Some intakes do?

I noticed some intakes use the water temp reg. cover for
hold down nut on the alternator backet's top bolt hole!
What a pain for changing gaskets on the temp. cover!
What is the other intakes difference?
I know the backets are different but why not use the other way
on all engines it seems so much better to be
fastened to the intake on a seperate bolt than the water temp. cover.

I guess you have the intake and backet or you don't.
How many different Alternator backets are there??
