six lug rotor ?
I know this is an old topic, but couldn't find my answer when I searched. I have a 69 frame with 6 lug rear and a front end off of a 78, can i buy the newer 6 lug rotors for the front, or do I have to have my axles re drilled to the 5 lug? If the 6 lugs rotors will work, what years do I need and do I need any other parts for the conversion? Also, I read something about hub size, and if I buy aftermarket rims, will they fit all the way around my truck
thank you and sorry if this is repetitious |

You could just change the axles out to 5 lug. I think any 5 lug 12 bolt axles will work, but some housings are 1 inch narrower, and require a wider brake drum, I changed my axles out and this is the set-up I had on mine, a 5 lug axle with the wide drums. I think that the 67-69's?? were narrower. I cant remember the measurements right off hand.

late model 6 lug hubs won't work, however, aftermarket ones will. www.gmcpauls.com should have them.

Early Classic Enterprises (ECE) sells a replacement 6 lug rotor that fits onto a 71-72 spindle. It is not a redrilled rotor like some of the vendors sell. The catalog I have shows them at $89 each.
