Brake Swap 70 K20 4x4
What do I need for parts to switch my 1970 K20 obsolete front drums to disc brakes. I have heard 71 up works but what is available? Any tips would be appreciated.

Sorry that I don't have an answer, but I have the same desire. Except mine is a 69 C10, so I will be watching this thread.

The easiest would be to find a 71 or newer front axle, period. Remember what it came out of for future repairs.
Now you could also swap steering knuckles out. Ball joints are the same. JB you can't do that because of your closed knuckles, you'll need a 71 and newer axle. The brake hose fittings at the frame will be the same from the drum to disc. I'm running a 70 master cylinder on my 71 and have no problems with the front disc.

I'm looking at going from manual drum/drum to power disc/drum on my '67. I have spoken with ABS brakes (they make the hydraulic kit that runs off the power steering pump - NOT the option I'm using).
The complete kit to go power drum/drum is $350, the kit for power disc/drum was quoted as $650. I am keeping the 6 lug, but I think its the same cost for 5 lug. You can contact them at: Info@abspowerbrake.com I haven't ordered yet, but am planing to. Is there any reason to go to power disc/disc brakes? I don't tow or haul heavy things(at least not very often), so I thought going to power disc/drum would be enough.
