To Cut or Not to Cut
I've got a new Painless wining harness for my 69 C10 pickup.
When I got this truck about 2 1/2 yrs ago, I installed a custom dash. I've machined a new aluminum plate dash and I'm getting it fixed up to replaced the wooden one. When I originally put in the custom wooden dash in I cut the old (original) dash harness connector off. Well, I'd like to NOT do that to the new Painless harness (pictured below). Anybody got any suggestions? Jim Mt Juliet 655 am with 15F - a skiff of snow on the ground |

Get the other half of that connector and wire to it.Then you can use the harness the way it is and the other plug will be wired into your dash. Then you can just plug them together

Connector??
As far as I know...this connector fit into a "connector slot" in the original dash (shown below). Is there a matching female connector out there somewhere?? Jim Mt Juliet 24F...but the sun it out! |

Painless Wiring makes a complete guage harness for the aftermarket guages, you do have to replace the original connector, but Painless makes it easy to do.I put it on my 69 and it looks clean.

Well you could try to contact painless and see if they will sell you the pins for that connector. If they will, remove the pins cut the wire right behind the pin and go for it. If you ever want to go back stock, cut the old harness back off, re-install the pins and you are in like Flynn.
