window felt etc
I have a 1968 Chevy CST. I need to know about replacing the vent window rubber and all the felt around the window of the door.
Can this be done without taking all the in sides o the door out. I really do not want to remove door locks, window regulator etc. unless I have too. |

You can change the door felt in about 5 minutes without taking anything out. Just roll the window down, pull out the old, start the new felt at the top of the rolled down window at the back of the door and push till it slides down. That's where the easy ends. I believe the felt channels are rivveted to the wing window which would require you taking it out. That means door panel, window, window regulator, then wing window. I have heard they are a PIA to do. I got lucky and my grandpa had an old 72 that had excellent felt in the channel and nice chrome still so I swapped the complete wings and bought new window channel and the 2 things that go on the window bottom inside/out. Hope that helps ya some.

I'm able to remove the wing assembly without removing the glass or regulators. When I reassemble a door, the wing goes in last. (had mine in and out quite a few times)
