What are you planning to get done this weekend?

Hey guys, thought I'd try a little twist on the weekend project posts that happen around here. Post here what you plan on getting done this weekend, then early next week I'll start another post and we'll see how good we did.

I'll get things started...

Today I removed my front crossmember and the steering stuff. Tomorrow I'll clean up the crossmember and paint it, and hope to strip the POR-15 off the frame and repaint it. My goal for the weekend is to have the crossmember back on the frame ready to go. Here's where it sits right now:

I'll be removing the rear support bar on my frame for relocation this weekend. The Fuel cell needs a little more space to mount

Tom(Cheesewagon) is on his way bringing his old 72' Burb to me from Ohio right now, should be here this evening. My fiance & I are going out with Tom for dinner. Tommorrow he is driving my old 92' Caprice wagon back to Ohio to pick up Joe(Crews) at the train station. Joe will be taking the wagon back with him to it's new home in MO. Saturday I will be putting in patch panels on the Cheesewagon so I can get it through NJ inspection.... Sunday & Monday, more of the same. Supposed to be in the low 50's then....

Bolt the heads on my short block, set up the valve train and start cleaning up all of the covers, brackets, bolts and small parts for paint and assembly.

Tonight should finish putting the 6" front springs on and bolting the front axle back up. Spend some time over the weekend to get that D*($# stock steering arm off so I can get the new lift steering arm and new drag link in. Anniversary weekend and Superbowl weekend otherwise, so I will be pretty busy!

Gonna get out the sand paper, hammer, chisel, grey primer, white paint, C/20 and 8-350 emblems and get the fenders looking nice again. Someone pulled all the emblems off and put about 3/8" of bondo over the holes. I already got the passenger side done, the driver side is next and it looks a lot worse. When I'm done with that I'm going to try to clean up the trailing arms while they're still on the truck and put rust killer all over 'em.

I am going to the NHRA Lucas Oil Southeast drag races. I have my video and camera with me. As far as the truck goes I need to get some new headlight bulbs and get the choke pulloff working on my divorced choke qjet. Not sure if it is the vaccum line or the pull of yet.

Choke on the carb works now. It was a cracked hose on the vacuum line, new headlights are in. Now all that is left is to head to the drag races for the eliminations tomorrow.

I plan on finshing the brakes, installing a new vac advance unit...and maybe actually drive it to the gas station!
Still need to do the relays on the headlights, and I just got a fender at the junk yard today...this sucker is almost perfect. NO dents, and just a little hole from the battery acid drip. I may try my hand at welding on it and see if I can fix that hole and get it sanded/primered. Either way, it's in the trunk of the town car right now, (gotta LOVE huge trunks...becouse there is plenty of other junk in there too) and it'll end up in the basement. This sucker ain't goin on untill it is painted.

I will be fiberglassing a center consol unit which also fits over a horizontaly placed tube subwoofer, mounting the rear chrome bumper, if ups delivers the brackets tonight like expected, and digging holes/planting uprights for a carport. I will finish the carport next weekend, and install some other stuff but will wait for that thread.

Yeah Truckguy that sounds about right. I'm guessing who ever did it filled the holes because they didn't have the right emblems. The fenders not original because they were never painted dark olive and the grille is from a 71-72 because it's the eggcrate grille with the bowtie in the grille. The hood has holes for the hood emblem but it's full of bondo and rust too. The first thing I had done was get a screwdriver and find the emblem holes then start chiseling from there. It took me about an hour just to get all the bondo off.
