It would be a nice piece for someone who is in and out of the back of their bed a lot..

I've seen worse things done to "nice" beds. At least this has a function. At my age I'd need at least 2, possibly three stacked vertically to get in and out over the side.

I've seen these from time to time at swap meets and on ebay. Not really rare but

nonetheless.

I DON'T THINK THEY WERE A GM ONLY ITEM. I BOUGHT A 67 FORD 1 TON FROM A FIRE DEPT. THAT HAD THEM IN BOTH BEDSIDES.

They were not a RPO, just a dealer installed part. I have an article on them somewhere, scanned it but it is on *HER* computer.
