Positive cable to one side, cable from other side to starter solenoid.

If you are using this to keep your battery from going dead while the truck is off, simply splice this in between the battery and the ground connection or the battery and the starter.
Keep in mind this switch will not shut down the engine in this configuration with the use of an alternator (that is wired like mine). It will run on the alternator... I found this out during the tech inspection at the dragstrip! To shut the engine down with this switch, you will either need a dual pole switch, or be sure that the alternator feeds the battery directly and the switch is between the battery and the source for the ignition power. Clear as mud? |

I wanted to use this as a cheap security system. I was curious if others had them and how they wired them in for convenient access.

Well if you splice into the large wire going from the battery to the starter you COULD use it as a "Cheap" anti-theft device.
