Question 4 links ?'s

If I use this kit with these bungs will i be able to side to side easier?
Are the bungs for adjustment, for flex, or both?
What else can be added to allow better side to side movement with a 4 link?

Does the parallel 4 link work better for flex?

Thanks in advance.

Curious why you want side to side movement?

"side to side" is a bit of slang... he's talking about wanting to dump the air on one side of the truck and raise it on the other.

the bungs are used only to make square bars adjustable. usually its not really required because the upper bars are already adjustable so you can fine tune pinion angle.

although adjustable lower bars are nice so you can get exact ctc location.

for really smooth side to side movement, use these.. http://www.*****************/products...ot_bar-end.htm

we use those pivot bushings on about 50% of the link kits we build.

Hey thanks you guys that really helped clear things up. Just one more ? what is the usual spot that you mesure to get the correct length of bars by this i mean 2 bottom ones, and 2 top ones? I do understand that theres many ways to mount a four link, but is there a pecific angle that the top links have to be so that no axle slide occurs; like with a pan hard bar.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had been told that I needed 24" bars when i was going to go with a 2 link but the pinon angle really blows ther for i decided to "spend a dime, save some time".
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
So i thought to my self 24" - 3" of saddle length = 21" lower bars . Is this correct or not?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
After reading some of the ?'s in a forum i realised that many people ask if both Bars have to be the same lenght or one shorter than the other. Why is this, do some vehicles come out like this? If yes does my 72' long bed need this? I have all ways known that the axle has to be centered so that it wont drag to the side.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks Jason once i get things cleared up ill be calling in to order my 4 link.

i usually build the bars so that when your looking at it from the side the pivot ends are on or almost on top of each other in alignment. just like the ends on a parallel are on top of each other. this keeps the axle from rotating to a crazy position.

what you have to do is figure the layout. determine how much angle you want your upper bars to have. alot of people will try to reach 45 degrees. this is sometimes not possible if they want really long lower bars. long bars are nice (roughly 30-34") if your going to mount bags on them. you need to match the uppers to the lowers.

the measurement we need is ctc of bar length.
