frame question
Im going to use a s-10 frame on my 48 pu. rRg cab long box is what im looking for but having a hell of a time finding one. So my question is what is peoples opinion on lengthining(sp?) a frame? First thing that comes to mind is weaker cause of two welds instead of one like in shortining a frame. Or is it just me, any input would be appreciated.

i lenghtened mine 37 inches. what i did was over lap the frame with extra frame section that i had made at a metal shop & then welded it all 2gether. BUT i will also be boxing in that area for added support. you could also butT weld the extra piece in & then fish plate it like that do on BIGG RIG's. as long as you make sure its all square & you can weld good everything will be fine...joe
