Need help identifying this

What is this and what does it do (of course mine doesn't do anything because it is broke)? I don't know how long it has been broke but the truck seems to be running ok.

The close-up shows the broken cable that should be connected to the bottom of the trottle, I think.

The other picture shows the general area.

Cool

I agree on that kick down, when u r driving about 20 mph nail it to the floor and it should kick down into second.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking to find one, but the only ones I have located were for 75-80 trucks with TH-350. Any ideas where I can find one for mine (1969)?

kick down cable

you can get one from a dealer, speed shops, PEP boys, Summit, I am in need of getting the correct one today for my 81. jus waiting for 8:00 am to start calling to see if I can get one today. Lokar has a universal kit and it runs around just shy $100.00 I will most likely go ith that one, because i cant wait 5 days to have this cable come into PEP Boys. but thety said they can get it over night for a additional charge
