72 chevy 350 power steering brackets info needed and pics please
HI All!
I have a 1972 Chevy Stepside short bed, 350, Auto. and I am putting Power steering on, I have most everything except 1 or 2 brackets that mount the pump on the engine. I have the short waterpump(I believe) and think I need the cast style bracket. can anyone shed some light on this. I would like to get some pics also of the brackets/Pumpo on the motor, mine has the Altenator and pump on the drivers side if that helps. Pics below at link for pump I have. Thanks Jeff Smith Pensacola, FL http://www.mvpc.com/1972chevy.htm 850-475-5030 |

Hi Jeff & welcome to the board from NJ! If the rain slows down a little bit here, I will go out and snap some pics off of my 72' Burb for you. That stepper looks pretty nice. Was it a fire dept. truck since new??

I clicked and seen the pics nice truck!!! I also read the ad and I didn't need a double groove for the water pump as my power steering pump runs off the crank pulley, that is the only two (crank and ps pump) on that belt. Randy

WOW Great, That has to be the one I need, I will start looking for those 2 in the pic. I have the manual also and that pic. When I bought the pump with brackets of EBAY, they said it was of a small block 1972 truck and it ndid not look like the pic in manual, the pump looks different also. so who knows, thanks and anymore pics would be great!!!

I'm also including a pic of my brother in law's truck. It was originally an Army truck also with a 250/6, 3spd, 4:11 posi rear, no air, no PS, 16" wheels, and no radio. We have since added an auto trans & PS to it, and repainted it olive drab(or pretty close, anyway).

If Hugger CST doesn't want to sell his setup let me know. I've got mine off a '72 C-10 with a rebuilt pump and the brackets bead blasted and painted black. I ended up going with a serpentine setup off a '92 Camaro and don't need it anymore.

When you put the pump bracket on and go to bolt it to the bolt on the motor mount it will make your life a lot easyer if you make the bracket hole a slot so you just have to loosen the bolt and slide it on.
