what is needed to fit a blazer rear bumper on a 87 2wd?
i'm wanting to do away with the big ol rear step bumper on my 87 2wd, as i'm lowering it and the step wont look right....
i'm wanting to put on the blazer style rear bumper (the one that sits somewhat flush to the body) what am i going to need to do this?...i'm pretty sure the step bumper brackets are different than the blazer style.... ..i know alot of the 81-87's came this way ???

You should just need the center brackets. I am pretty sure the braces on the burb/blazer bumper will work.

You will need the center braces that mount to the frame. The step bumper pieces are different. Depending on the step bumper, sometimes none of the brackets will work.

the center brackets are made to the rear of the suburban and blazer frames. The end of the rails are cut off, so to speak, on a pickup. The center brackets bolt to the rails on a pickup, similar to how an aftermarket bumper would. There is a pretty good illustration in the LMC catalog of the brackets.

Ditto on what JonBoy said. Blazer/Burbs don't actually have center brackets as they are made into the frame.
