Manual Throttle???
Just curious....I am restoring a 72 4X4 that has rpo 1k3110 Manual Throttle...I have not seen this on to many trucks (one other I believe)...How rare is it?? What was its purpose?? You cant use it as cruise as it wont shut off when you hit the brake. Was it for some sort of PTO?? Truck is pretty bare bones on the option list....radio delete, no lighter. Thanks for any insight on this....Paul K

I think that it was mostly for 1 tons and bigger work trucks, but I did buy one earlier this year that came out of a 71 1/2 ton suburban, but don't think you see many in 1/2 ton trucks- CPNE would be the person to ask about this- I think he posted some info about this in a post a while back

My 67 1/2 ton came factory with throttle but no idea what they used it for.
In the old days on the ranch we would use throttle to keep pickup moving then jump in back and throw out hay for the cattle

I have 2 trucks with them both 1/2 ton 4x4s. I used mine to creep slowly when heater hunting, poor mans cruise control, LOL.

I have seen throttles on several 3/4 ton camper specials. It would be a usefull option on those trucks especially with the duel battery option.

Lots of those up this way as they were fairly common in trucks with PTO hydraulics for the dump beds. Seen them in 4x4's too.

Used to set and maintain engine rpms for many applications such as:
Creeping to bay hay, etc Any hydraulic driven accessories such as pto's and on 4x4's hydraulic plow setups.

They fit the story of the truck to a tee....Truck was purchased by a Farmer in NE Penna....I bought it off of the second owner who bought it in 73-74...truck also had the wood in the LWB so he could haul them animals around....Thanks.....Paul K
