My truck didn't come with a clock in the dash. So i bought a 2" autometer tach and installed it there. It's not flush like the other gauges, but one of these days I want to make it fit nice and snug.

Autometer Monster Tach (5") w/ shift lite. I mounted mine right next to the ashtray down low. It doesn't get in the way of my floor shifter for my T/C and I can still open the ashtray (even though I don't smoke). And it's pretty much outta the way.

Looks like a Hotpoint of some type. Wonder what agitator he's got under the lid of that thing.
lol, sorry but it's Friday night. I like the aftermarket in dash tachs. That's what I'm putting mine when the time comes.

I've gotten a couple out of medium duties in a junkyard, and we had an '87 C70 that had one (it was the newer style "script", for lack of a better word). I've seen a couple on Ebay, too. If you look through a big truck junkyard, I'd bet you might find one. It seems that trucks with wet kits (dump trucks or grain boxes) tend to have factory tachs. Joe

Yes cracker, where did you get that tach? Would like to have one of those myself. That is a really nice set up. I have the clock in mine and with a tach like that I could keep the clock in place. Let us know.

Comes from the larger versions of our trucks (2 ton+) This one had a gas powered V-8 and had the air guage where the clock sits.

Well, do not think I will find one of them tomorrow. Thanks. But would still like to find one somewhere. Just if I knew where somewhere is.

I had a tach mounted in an old points-style distributor cap. The tach was from a boat... Quicksilver I think.
I had it zip-tied it to the column at the 12:00 position.

Looks like they stole your shifter cover and the radio but left the tach? You are lucky to get the truck back with all that I can see still there. Most of the time the truck is completly stripped. Does the tach get in the way of the other gages?
