Looks to be pretty original. 307 or 327? Are those 4 Wheel Drive emblems above the marker lights? I've heard that 68's had them but never seen one with any evidence of it.

Well...
I not sure of anything motor wise. Where you see it in the picture is where it still is. About 30 miles from me. In fact, you ever here of the "World Famous" Sturgis Bike Week? Or Bear Butte South Dakota? That's Bear Butte in the back ground, just outside Sturgis.
I have not noticed the emblems. never owned a 4WD before. I hoping it's a 327, but probably a 307. Hell it has the orig. radio delete plate. I betting the orig. owner didn't opt for the optional 327. I'll keep you posted...

Well he or she did get the chrome front bumper and 2 tone paint. Whats interesting to me is there is no chrome hood lip trim piece and fender eyebrows found on 68's. I see no evidence of the holes for it either though the pic is not the greatest. Anyway when you get it home let us know more.

more info...
I bought it from a guy, who buys old tractors... He, I guess, bought 5 or 6 tractors from this farmer guy. Then the farmer told him "take that truck too, you buy the tractors you take the truck too". The farmer was the original owner.
I guess the seller guy put a battery in it and it turns over... He also said when you put it in gear "it tries to kinda start"... So I'm thinking a new HEI and a new fuel pump, fuel lines, rebuild the 2bbl on it, and remove & drain fuel tank. A good cleaning and Whalla a great truck. Oh, it hadn't been licensed since 1979...

Great find!! Lets see some more pics when you get it home. If it has a 2 bbl carb then it is probally a 307. My first truck was just like that one, same color too. Even had the 4-wheel drive emblems on the front fenders.

The 210 hp 327 came with a 2-barrel. It has really low compresion at 8.75 but it made 320 ft lbs net. But I think it was limited to the camaro only. Block casting # 3970010. Same casting # was used on 350 from 69-79 also, so these 327's do tend to get mistaken for a 350 2 bolt main block and sold off cheap. I've also heard some of the first 68 models got a 283 in them due to the fact they had a couple left over from 67.

Great find. I'm always late for the ones close to me. Curious what you paid.
