Tire recommendations

Hello All,

I'm getting ready to purchase some new sneakers for the truck and I was hoping to get some recommendations. To assist with your replies, I will be using 15x8 rally wheels, I'd like to have raised white letters (not required, I just like the look on these older trucks), strictly street, and all season preferably.

I live in albuquerque, nm and we get some snow and rain, but for the most part dry and hot in the summer... I was thinking of running 275/60-15's on all four corners with a spare for rotation.

Thanks!

I run BF G Radail TA's. 255/70/15 with a stock height truck. Also on 15x8 ralleys. Very happy with them.

I'd get BFG radial T/A's. The letters look really good to, even though I'm running black on the outside.

Big BFG T/A fan here to. I have run them on maybe a half dozen different cars/trucks. I have always been happy.

I like the BFG T/A Radial's myself. These are my Dayton Daytona tires (275/60/15 on 15x8 wheels).

I like ...

I like Cooper Cobras myself, but that's just because I can get them mounted and balanced for about $280.00. The tread lasts about the same as BFG's. I bought some BFG's years ago at Sam's Club and they lasted for a while, but I hate waiting to get them mounted there.

Hi 68. You can check out a whole list of tires at www.tirerack.com. Compare brands and view owner's feedbacks.
You can't go wrong with the looks of the BFG T/A's. I bought a set of the Cooper Cobras 255/70/15 for my 88. A year and a half now and the tread wear is great and they still handle and ride like new. I think the tread wear rating is over 440 or so. They cost less than the T/A's.

I went with Goodyear Eagle GTII's, although I don't think I'll be driving much in the winter months, they are an all season tire, with a good ride and handling. They were alot less expensive than a BFG T/A and have white letters, although I turned the white letters in. They don't carry the same speed rating of the T/A's, but really, with a non-overdrive truck with 3.73 gears, a speed rating is a bit of a waste of money, imo.

I've been pretty loyal to Goodyear, and have put some form of Goodyear on damn near every vehicle I've run.

The link in my sig has some decent pictures. 235-60s on front, 275-60s on the rear.

im running BFG radial t/a's 255/70/15 ... i like em ... kinda wish i would had them put the black letter out though ... white looks great when clean (5 % of the time) and brown, no so appealing (the other 95%)

I'll second the Goodyear Eagle GT II's. I've had the BFG's and don't have any complaints, but decide to go with the Eagles because they had a better load rating, stronger side walls and looked just as good. I have the black wall out, my preference but the white letters are there and look good. I wanted the load rating because at the time I had a boat I was towing and I still need to haul some heavy loads once in a while. I'm using 275/60-15's rear and 235/70-15's on the front. They match for diameter (close enough) but I have narrower front rims.

I run a set of Cooper Cobra's. If you need a pic, go to http://www.cardomain.com/ride/838063. I really like these tires, they have a smooth ride, and can be flipped for either, raised white lettering, or black sidewall.
