Stupid Ignition Question
Here goes, How can I tell if I have HEI? I know there are probably some obvious signs, but I bought the truck as a whole so I don't know. It has a 79 truck 350 in it.
Thanks in advance for answering my stupid question.

8 plug wires on cap = HEI, 8 plug wires plus one in the center to coil (total 9) = points

If the cap is as big as a ice cream pail it's a HEI.

probably cuz they were angle sockets at the plugs and one was in contact with the header.........had to use a wire with a straight socket.
