Tach in dash wiring ??

We got a dash with our 70 chevy pu that has a tach in it, all I see are 2 wires coming out the back Red and brown any help on the wiring to get the tach working is appreciated. The book does say that the brown to coil and no other information( I assume that is the dist. side of the coil for the brown wire) Thanks Ed ke6bnl

Yep, brown to dist side of coil, and the red wire goes to "ignition" at the fuse box.

Thanks Hugger for the supper fast response to my question on the tach. This is for my boys truck and we ran out there and wired it up and the tach is now working fine. Do appreciate the help. thanks crew for your confermation also. I got one happy son first vehicle and new driver. He appreciates the little things since getting his truck like door locks and windshild, working signals and even a side view mirror. Truck came in sort of a kit form that we had to put together. Its a strongly built 350 motor cam and dart port and polished head. and lowered short bed with front disc brakes and lot more work to do.. Ed ke6bnl
