Passenger seat belt retractor, why different locations
I've noticed pics where the passenger side retractor on K5's is located on the vertical(rear bed to front floor) behind the seat. My 69 k5 has the retractor on the actual bed, just behind the seat. Hopefully I'm clear.
What years were different?

This just came up a couple of weeks ago. I never new there were two different locations. VT said he had seen the seatbelt mounted to the bed before on the passenger side. But no one came up with any specs of what year etc.

On my plain jane 70, the pass belt is mounted on the bed floor, just behind the chrome strip that covers the lip.

Jakeslime's got it.
It's to make getting in and out of the back seat easier. The belt is not in the way then.
