Wood Floored Fleetsides
Wondering if anyone can get me some pictures of the underside of their fleetside wooden beds? I'm in the middle of a conversion now and i'm having a bit of trouble fittin' her back together.

I have a Longhorn but the cross supports are probably in the wrong place. What, specifically are you looking for?

I have long since gotten rid of my steel floor. The part of the instructions where it says... "refer to the steel floor for placement of the cross sills and reinforcement strip." I just want an idea of how to place the sills underneath the wood. I mean I think I could figure it out easy enough, it just would have been nice to have a picture or better reference.

I not trying to be wise, but this is all I can offer. I tried to get pics under the truck and all I was able to get is dirty. Theres not much to see now that the tool box, saddle tank, and spare are all back underneath. Heres a disassembly pic that shows where the cross beams are. If you look close at the bed wood each row of bolts (side to side) represents a cross sill except for the front roll pan rear cross sill and the three sections in between the wheel wells. In that area you use large fender washers to tie it all together.

BRAINSTORM(rare)!!!This is a good subject for FAQ section. As good steel floors become harder to come by,a wood floor conversion becomes a more attractive alternative.
