No bright lights
OK Guys, I know this must be simple, but in 100 degree heat and a hangover I just can't get it. Lights turn on. When I hit the bright switch 'I replaced' the lights turn off. Checked all fuses. Some punk broke into it last week and stole the radio ,since then it seems to have a few probs! thanks

Check your dimmer switch. I know for at least a week or two before I took my truck off the road, when I hit the dimmer switch my lights would go from bright to none. Replaced the dimmer switch, problem solved......... Hope it's that easy for you........Jerry

Check the connections at the dimmer switch (bright switch as you call it) for corroded connections.

Also trace the wiring back from the dimmer switch to the fuse block, seems to be a popular place for people to hack into the wriing, and not get it connected well afterwards.

Check the ground wire that comes from the panel cluster. It clips onto the dash between the radio and steering wheel. I put a screw in mine because it wasn't grounding very well. If it isn't making a good connection it will cause a multitude of electrical problems...

Yeah to what they said, check tthe "bright" switch, I used to hava a truck that the if I pulled the switch once the parking lights would come on (supposed to) but when I pulld on it a second time the lights would come on briefly and go out, it turns out the switch was bad and had a lot of play, if I push the switch in juts a bit, then the lights would come on, I never changed that switch after I knew the right wiggle

If all that stuff seems to check out, plug in a known good or new headlight bulb just to be sure it's not a pair of bad bulbs.

I just replaced both of mine because the brights were blown. Both at the same time. I was having alternator problems a while back and maybe that had something to do with it.
