need a radiator

Need to buy a new 4 row radiator for Yeller, and was wondering where some of you have purchased yours from. I remember a few of you bought them online for a decent price, just wondering where and how much.

I can't remember the online place, but it may be US Radiator. There's another online place, but last time I called them about purchasing a radiator, they told me that their reputable radiators were now being made overseas. Discount auto stores like Autozone have generic radiators if you want to go that route.

I used radiator.com last time I got one and was really happy, but there is a thread on CK5 right now about someone that got a used (as in dented with painted over bugs) radiator from radiatorbarn.com and they claim they are the same company as radiator.com. I don't know if that is true, but be careful.

I contacted radiator.com and was given two different quotes for two different radiators. One was a GDI (I think that is what they said) for $169, and a Visteon for $199. Has anyone heard of or used either of these brands, and what do you know about them? What are some good mfr's to use as far as radiators go? Since I am doing a body off resto on my truck, I don't want to cut corners, and more importantly, don't want to put a junk radiator in my truck. With that being said, I am not rich either and can't afford to spend $4-500 on a nice aluminum one either.

I will be calling usradiator.com when they open, but until then, would like to hear what you all think.

I have a 4-row Modine from Napa.
EDIT: Has life-time warranty and costed $208.19., price has gone up.
Had a leak after one year, took it back got a new one.
No other problems so far. Had it for a few years now.

Advance sells a brand called ReadyRad. When Advance switched over to this company, they sent a bunch of stickers and the Modine rads were all relabeled Ready Rad. I don't know if Ready Rad bought them out or if they just bought Advances' stock, but Modine has always been THE radiator company so they are probably good stock. I have not heard of the long term quality of Ready Rad yet ( I have been on leave with the wife being in the Middle East) but they seemed like a good company. Good luck my friend, Mike

i wouldn't buy one online for the simple fact of warr issues. if you have a problem you would have to mail it and all that crud. if you get it local you just take it and swap it in.

No, no, no...... it doesn't work like that. You order the radiator & a local distributor delivers it or you can pick it up. The same distributor handles warranty issues as well.

I purchased my radiator for the 74 through them & arranged for a C.O.D. delivery right to my workplace. The guy called me via my cell when he was on his way & I inspected the radiator (I wanted to make sure it was an exact fit) & once I looked it over, I paid for it & got my warranty stuff/receipt. Total delivered to me was less than $150 w/lifetime warranty.

Works great. Was a simple transaction & I didn't have to mess w/the downtime of repairing my old radiator (BTW . . .... the repair quote was more expensive!). I swapped the radiators during my 30min lunch that day.

Well, usradiator is out of the pic, too expensive and from my brief 1 minute phone chat...pretty sh*tty customer service.

I called NAPA, and their 4 row Modine is $252. While this is comparable to the "never heard of them before" companies radiator.com has, I can't help but wonder why Eddie got his for $120.

I have heard of Modine, and it sounds like a reputable company...might have to go with them. I like the warranty deal too.

Sorry about that, I meant $220.00, but it was actually $208.19.
It was a few years ago. The price has gone up.
They held to their warranty and I didnt have to pay the difference.
I think the Napa Part Number is MO 730

It's been a while but it may have been someone at radiator.com (the link that Scoti posted) that told me that the Modines were now being made overseas. (This was a couple of years ago.) It the time, I was looking at the Modines. Seems like everyone recommended them. I don't remember what I ended up with, but it's been trouble-free. You might want to call them to find out about the Modines and the Visteons. I think I paid around $150 at the time.

got my from auto zone for a $150, dont remember the brand, believe it had lift time as well. but dont go in there asking for an aluminum 4 core, it will be $300+, ask for a stock replacement radiator for a 454 1 ton.
