Does the center support go over or under the outer grill?

Does anyone have a picture of where the center support latch attaches to the outer grill? I have a C20 and it looks like the outer grill was hit with a hammer to fit over the center support where the hood locks into the support. I have seen other Chevy trucks at shows where they bolt in on top of the outer grill. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks. Truck69.

It shd go under the top bracket that holds the stricker plate (the curved one) and then the aluminum outer grill and then the vertical grill support. The aluminum outer grill shd be sandwiched between both pieces, install the 4 bolts and your good to go (assuming you have the rest of it in place). One problem I had with mine was getting it to fit flush at the fender ends... I had to loosen the front quarter panel bolts first, get it lined up and then retighten the bolts. Hope this helps, Doug
