hood

I put a new hood to cowl seal on my truck when I put my hood back on. Now my hood feels pretty tight when it gets down pretty close to shutting. Is this normal (like new door weatherstripping) and will go away or do I need to adjust the hood?

Should move smooth and easy with no binds. Make sure you have all the pivot points on the hinges lubed well--with motor oil, with lithum sprey, etc. You should be able to pop the release and have the hood just about lift it's self to open. If it is binging on the fenders, you need to adjust the fender width. If binding in the rear check your hinge adjustment as they may be pushed down too much in the back. Huck

Did you buy the seal from LMC? I bought one from them that was shaped like an "L" and stuck straight up against the bottom of the hood. The original was shaped like a sideways "U". I couldn't close my hood after installing it. I took it off, threw it in the trash and reinstalled the original one.
