Wich way does it go?
Finally putting back on my door panels... Does the open end of the retainer clips point toward the end of the handle/knob or away? Hope I worded this right.

I always put them so that the open end faces the long end of the handle... that sounds confusing....
this is the clip: C this is the handle: O--- That's the position I put them on.... not sure if it is THE way.....

Doesn't really matter!! As long as you can get the tool in there later to remove it.

If you put the clip on the other way, then the elbow rest gets in the way of the tool.

Heck, if you pull hard enough, the thing will 'snap' right off in your hand....no tools required.

70 blown GMC, I wish I would have known that 25 years ago, tricks of the trade, that probably works better than the tool. I can remember the teen days standing in a puddle of mud prying the handle up against the clip and then trying to push it out with a little screwdriver.
