Got the "Trazer" home....but

Hey guys,

Well, I got up this morning at 5 and was up there by 9:30. Left about 10:30 and just walked in the door. Ran like a champ was traveling 70-85 the whole trip on the interstate.

Now the problem. After seeing the Trazer in person I don't think I'm going to keep it. I probably could have just told the guy that I didn't want it but I felt a responsibility to purchase it. I felt like it's a moral issue, I mean I was the high bidder and I can't stand those people who do that. I will probably post it on the "Trucks For Sale" board later. I'm just going to ask what it cost me plus the gas to go get it.

Here's some pics of it.

Glad you made it back OK. Sorry it didn't turn out like you had hope for. I think you did great on your moral judgement on the deal. Good luck with the resale.

Looks like a nice, unique ride

What is it about it you aren't happy with? Just the truck overall or things in specific?
Just curious

Glad to see you made it home. So what's the problem with it? Was it misrepresented or just not what you were expecting?

It may just be buyers remorse, you may want to sit on it for a week or two and check it all over. You may change your mind.
It would be best to change your mind before you sell it, it would suck to sell it and then decide that you should have kept it.

It's mostly the body. I didn't expect the body to be in the shape it is in. I think to somebody with some body skills the body isn't that bad, but for someone who has no skills it is. I know most of you know about my silver stepside and as you know if I did body work than I'd already be done with it.

There was just a lot of bondo cracks on it. If I knew how to fix them and primer the damn thing I don't think I'd care that much. I'm just not a welder and am not as mechanical as most of the guys on this board. I like to put things together and put new parts on who doesn't right?

Was it mentioned in the auction? If I was expecting something and it wasn't what I was led to believe I would've either walked away or the price would drop. Not knocking you, but that's just the way I am.

Here's pretty much the description in the auction:

You are looking at a 1972 Blazer K 5. Truck has all guages, including a fac. tach. All work. Truck has been in my possesion since 2000. That was the last paint job and interior work. At that time we took the top off and converted it to a short wide. The truck has lots of new items as well as older items in 2000. The engine was reringed and sealed, the 350 trans was rebuilt, the front diff was rebuilt as was the steering, gear box, hoses, and front u-joints,shocks, interior, seals and paint. The Blazer is very reliable and runs like a champ. The truck sat for a year and the carpet faded. I put the cheaper bed liner kit on the box, its peeling. There is some minor rust in the bed. The driver door panel is off.

I have done a lot of work to the truck in the last few months like... The door latch, door hinges, door jam switch, new holley elec. choke 600, new edelbrock air breather, belts, New inner seals on front diff, new front heavy lockers from warn, new accel 8.8 mm high temp wires, accel hei coil, fuel pump, Ram-horn headers, exhaust with turbos, fuel tank kit, fuel guage, tailgate, master cyl, and steering stabilizer as well. The truck has older Wrangler 235/75's that are decent but not new.Im sure im not getting everything.. The truck does have some minor work needing to be done. It does have some rot in it, has some cracking of bondo. All lights are funtional, heat works great. Needs a new switch for blower. There is so much more to this awesome Blazer,

Like I said I don't think it's that bad I just think I got in over my head. That's it

I was curious how this one would turn out when you posted about the e-bay purchase.
Glad to hear it ran well for ya and made it home fine.

If you do decide to pass it on, let me know please.
Redoing blazer bodies seems to be my thing lately.

WOW, blast from the past. Yes, I sold it to a guy here locally. I think he still has it but doesn't get it out much. I did sell it a few months later.
