maybe if someone were close by, they/you could save the money and trouble of shipping.

I am interested. oh, and why aren't you going to put it in your sub? I was thinking of using it in my 72 sub...

It has the short shaft, like a pu, but arms off a van. Is it a converted van? Where is the neutral switch located?

I'm in Indiana, converted van ? I thought the van columns had the long steering shaft ? There is no place for a neutral switch. the levers where on the column when I got it.

I have seen van tilts in trucks and the main thing I have noticed is that the steering wheel is closer to the dash.

may want to just give dimensions and let them decide what it is they want.

I put my truck and van tilts side by side and the housing dimensions are identical. The van steering shaft is longer and the neutral safety switch location is higher on the column.

I used to have a van tilt with no neutral safety switch at all on the column. I think it was from a later van which may have had the neutral safety on the tranny.

my72...there should be a neutral safety switch on the column if it is an automatic, tilt or non-tilt, truck or van. Some newer keyless automatic van columns had no provision for a neutral safety switch because the switch is on the tranny. In your picture it appears that there is no cut-out for the neutral safety switch on the tube (cut-out is up high for a van, and low for a truck). So, because of this and the fact that it has van type levers, some are suspecting that it is a converted later van tilt. Nothing wrong if done correctly but someone still has to fabricate a neutral safety switch into it, to use it as an automatic. Or, do as I did in my last 4x4, bypass the switch altogether . But I have been known to do odd things.

Good luck on your sale!

HGS..I was told the upper switch position on the van tilt may get in the way of the brake pedal bracket movement. Why don't you clamp your tilt on real quick and depress your pedals and let us know if it really gets in the way. If not then it won't be necessary to move it. Let us know, I am curious.

I am also curious why this won't work. The truck wires may need to be lengthened?

How can you tell if the shift arm is off of a van?

Van shift levers are shorter than truck shift levers. The shift lever looks like it is from a truck to me, but I agree that the turn signal & tilt levers are van, or are from a later model truck. All of the 67-72 truck turn signal & tilt levers that I have seen had the smaller, hard plastic ends, not rubber like those. I'm not sure about the neutral safety switch, but I know some vans did have the switch on the trans. It looks like a nice column either way, and once it's in, who's gonna know the difference?

I`ve used van tilts in trucks.Looks authentic. You just have to move the neutral safety switch to the truck position.Van tilts have a lower price range than truck columns.

I think the column is for a Truck. I have done some looking on the net and it looks to be the real deal, I do agree that the turn and tilt lever are not correct. I do think the shift lever is correct.

I just bought a van tilt from supposedly a 76 van. It has the neutral safety switch. I was wondering though, why does the switch need to be moved? Won't it fit in the truck in the original position? Is it the wiring?

on a van tilt the switch hits sumthing(the firewall i think) under the dash in a truck, so it has to be moved up not to hit

and that looks like a truck tilt to me

Is the PRND21 indicator housing metal or plastic???? I had a mid 80's motorhome tilt that looked pretty close to a truck tilt but the shift lever at the bottom of the column was slightly different and the indicator housing was black plastic...

Nice column ya got either way... Good Luck on the sale.
